The Joshua Ray Smallwood Foundation is a non-profit public charitable organization formed under IRS Code 501(c)(3) that was started in memory of a brave young man who waged a valiant war against testicular and germ cell cancer for over a year. His faith and determination to conquer his illness carried him much farther than his body could withstand. His will to conquer never diminished. His battle showed what true courage really is. Josh was a wonderful son and brother who will continue his important destiny even now. Part of the fulfillment of his destiny is the forming of these organizations.

international testicular cancer foundation

The International Testicular Cancer Foundation was formed to improve the quality of life for patients, caregivers, and families who are battling and surviving testicular cancer by providing a support system through problem solving and sharing information about the disease from a social and medical perspective. This foundation is partnering with the medical community to share information and to formulate and implement strategies that will benefit those that have been diagnosed, or are helping someone that has been diagnosed, fight this battle.

Testicular Cancer is the number one form of cancer affecting men from the age of 15 to 35. But it is also the most curable form of cancer, particularly when detected in early stages. One way to detect TC early is through self-examination. This group of men are generally not aware of testicular cancer nor do not realize the need for self-examination.

The mission of the “Let’s Give the Boys a Hand” Awareness Campaign is to disseminate information about TC through the website www.theBoys.org. On the website is important information regarding testicular cancer and easy-to-understand instructions for monthly self-examinations.

Through the use all forms of social media, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, “theBoys” are spreading the message about testicular cancer.
